Description

When you install the Moog ball joints in your NA upper control arm, you need to press the boot into place once the ball joint has been installed. This is a surprisingly challenging thing, but it's not very challenging to accidentally cut the boot in the process. Take the risk out of that job with this tool - place the boot into place, slip this tool over, snug down the nut (only until the boot seats), then remove the tool and put it all back together. Easy! Boots aren't sold separately, so if you damage a boot you need to buy a whole new ball joint.

My Experience so far

Alright get this! I still don't got it! I went to change out my front suspension, bushings ball joint, all that. When it came to doing the ball joint. Ohh my gawd, using everything but this tool, PVC pipe, socket, more sockets, I ran through 2 rubber moog bushings. I bought 3 ball joints as the rubber is either the same price or unavailable by itself. I only completed one side. I stopped because I knew I should get this mf. Everytime I check it says sold out or due to my own neglect :( . I can't wait for it to go on sale again so I can place my order. My project/ repair has stopped due to this rubber piece continuously ripping. And you don't expect shit to rip you know, so when it happens, bam, look up who gots the part, drive out, drive back, extra 30-60 minutes and 30 dollars later you still gotta hope for the best. Also it helps to have a vice grip and an extra set of hands. I was breaking my back hunched over trying to get the ball joint in with
the harbor freight tool (works well) but damn an extra set of hands can save you hours of frustration I'll update when I get the part n use it.

Hey Gio, we hope that our ball joint boot installation tool helped! Please contact us direclty if you'd like to update your review to reflect your experience using our tool. Thanks!

Great Tool!

Spend the $20 (shipped) for this tool or risk ripping boots and having to buy a new ball joint since they don't sell the boots separately. After reading about people using sockets and PVC piping to press the boot on and then finding it ripped soon after install, I bought this tool. Took 5 minutes to install the boots, no swearing, and nothing ripped. Well worth the money!

Neat little tool, it took not even 2 minutes to pop both boots on the ball joints. Ended up being about 20$ with shipping, I’d say it’s worth it

Ball Joint Installation Tool

OK this is probably the best $9.99 that I have spent while Rebuilding my Miata. It literally took Two Minutes to install both ball joint Boots. I put a thin coat of Dish Soap on the inside surface of the Boot and they popped on super easy.
