There are a lot of bad LED headlight bulbs out there. That's in large part due to the way that LEDs generate light - they're more directional. It's easy to jam a bunch of LEDs on a stick and claim high lumen output, it's something very different to make sure the light is going to the right place. Headlights are important to us, so we take this seriously.

These SL1 bulbs are from Diode Dynamics and have a patented optical design that makes them work properly in your existing housings. This makes them a true plug and play and gives you light output you can use.

On top of that, they're designed to control heat as well as possible. Not just a big heatsink, they're designed from the inside out to channel heat to the base, where a microfan dumps it. This makes them last longer than other bulbs - they've got a three year warranty. They've gone through full OE-style reliability testing.

The H9 is the correct bulb for NC high beams as well as many other applications. For the NC non-HID low beams you will need an H7 bulb (not currently available).

Rated at 1630 actual lumens, not imaginary lumens.

Color: 6000K cool white

Like all our other Diode Dynamic offerings, they are designed and built in the US. Sold in pairs.

LED headlight bulbs are legal in the USA for fog light or track (off-road) use only. Not compliant with DOT / FMVSS108 and not street legal in the USA for headlights. International legality varies by country. Note: This usage regulation is not unique to Diode Dynamics bulbs. All LED bulbs from all brands, regardless of marketing claims, are prohibited from street use in halogen headlights in the USA.

If you purchased these LEDs before 11/1/2020 and wish to maintain DOT/FMVSS108 compliance on your street car, please click here to find out about the Diode Dynamics recall.
