Description
The Koni STR.T (aka Koni Orange) is a non-adjustable shock that is essentially a Koni Sport (Yellow) set to full soft. It's a very high quality replacement for stock shocks that comes with a lifetime warranty. Shocks are an important factor in your car's handling and ride, and the stock non-Bilsteins only last about 30,000 miles before needing replacement. Even Bilsteins have a lifespan of under 100,000 miles - and these Konis will ride better than a set of functioning stock Bilsteins anyhow.
Because of their valving, we do not recommend these shocks for cars with aftermarket springs. They do not have sufficient damping to control a spring with a higher spring rate, and the car will pogo around as if it had bad shocks. For that use, we recommend the Koni Sport.
Due to some changes in spring and shock geometry, we do not recommend these for use with stock MSM springs.
Includes a set of our Multicellular Urethane bumpstops, which will improve ride quality, travel and the ability to absorb mid-corner bumps. Many NBs will have disintegrated stock bumpstops by this point in time as well. This is an exclusive upgrade only at Flyin' Miata!
Unlike the adjustable Koni Sport, the STR.T uses the same shaft design as stock so no modifications are required to the upper mount.

These shocks completely transformed my car. The 21 year old stock shocks would bottom out if you looked at them too hard. Now it rides smoother than my full-size SUV over bumps. If you are not looking for a lowered ride height, I cannot recommend them enough.
My previous miata was a rally NA, so when I picked up a 40k mile NB, I realized I was in uncharted territory by having to stick with restoration and maintenance rather than modification.
These STR.T shocks are a great OEM+ option for a street car. The helpline gave me quick feedback and assistance for installation. The car feels miles better, and these shocks can even handle the pothole ridden roads of Michigan, which is big praise!
Only minor complaint is that the paint tends to flake off extremely easy, especially around where the spring perch rests. One of the shocks even arrived with some paint already flaked off. Some paint globs from poor spraying also visible on some of the shocks. But at this price point, preferable that Koni cheap out on the paint job rather than the quality of the shock performance.
Could not be more pleased with my purchase of suspension parts from Flyin’ Miata. Will absolutely use FM again!
My Miata is an NB 2004 with 105600 miles. I began to notice it bottoming out in hard turns in the rear on both sides. I looked at different offerings and having had good experiences buying from Flyinmiata I decided to install the above package. Also needed to install new swaybar end links. I had to hacksaw two of them off as the rust prevented removal. Use YouTube to familiarize yourself with the procedure. In the front, I removed the upper A arm long bolt which seemed easiest for removal of the front struts. The rear struts are much easier. Driving! I could not believe how much improvement resulted from this installation. The car tracks perfectly. Handling is precise, where before it did not steer as it should. Once again my Miata is great to drive. I love the Miata!
