Description
The stock clutch on the NC is fine for naturally aspirated power, but it won't hold up long-term if you increase the power.
Flyin' Miata clutches are known for being easy to drive, with a smooth engagement and a good pedal weight - all at an excellent price. The friction material is a steelback copper woven organic material.
Rated (conservatively) for 260 lb-ft at the crank, they're an excellent match for forced induction systems. Includes pilot and throwout bearings along with an alignment tool.
For the 6-speed transmission.

2015 NC GT. Bone stock. Added the FM turbo kit 0.64 A/R ~172kPa boost set on a warmish day. The stock clutch would give up under certain circumstances. Not always, but sometimes when boost / torque peak kicked in, it would just give up. Longer harder drives more so. Something to do with engine / trans / outside temps is my best guess. After a few good slip sessions I was nice to the stock clutch until I could get this in. Break in is critical. Do what they say. I ran 3-4 tanks through it (but not 1000 miles) just daily driving. Initially the pressure plate felt quite stiff and was hard to adjust to, and it could be chattery / grabby coming off stops in 1st gear sometimes. It seems like the spring tension has reduced, and the "slippiness" of partial clutch (between in and out) smoothed out. Now I would say it feels very similar to stock clutch, maybe a bit stiffer feel but I can't notice it. Maybe I got used to it but I swear it got softer than initial install. Holds the turbo all day long, which on a very cold ~23F outside day was dyno'd at 275+ torque (291 whp!) (same dyno stock car ~50-60 deg day was 136 torque, 146 whp. The dyno may be a bit optimistic)... Great clutch for the FM Turbo kit!
