Description

Originally known as the "M2", this is our favorite street bar for the 1990-05 cars. It works with all factory tops - hard and soft, glass or plastic window. It doesn't affect seat travel. The bar is well placed to stay clear of your head while still providing protection. Made of 1.5" DOM tubing.

The biggest downside to this bar is that it's not as tall as the Hard Core. The top of the bar is 19" above the rear parcel shelf. This may be an issue when dealing with your local track day organizers, so we recommend checking the necessary clearance required. Most of them will know this bar by name.

The design has been tweaked to accept a wider variety of top designs - it will now clear a glass window that is up to an inch larger than the stock NB window. Stock glass windows (and the inflexible border) measure about 32-1/4" at the widest point near the top (where your window needs to slip between the rear supports of the roll bar when the top is down).

Available with no diagonals (best rearward vision), single diagonal (worst rearward vision), and double diagonal (in-between rearward vision, our most popular version).

If you'd like to use a harness, the bolt-in harness bar fits nicely.

If not, depending on where the bars are in the production process, it could take approximately 2-6 weeks for delivery. High Quality - Plan ahead for the install

Planned ahead for the install and sound deadened everything and replaced my fuel pump while I was back there. Trimming the interior panels was the most ambiguous part but they look okay. Rock solid install and great attention to detail from the MFG.

DEFINITELY HAVE A HELPER

HD roll bar is good quality & fit. You definitely need the wrap around padding in case of a street accident where you head might hit the vertical tubing with disastrous effect. I have one in a 96 NA and a 2017 Fiat Spider.

You need someone to help lift the bar into place - and (re)move it as needed to get the fit right. I paid to have mine installed and it isn't cheap - time is $, especially when paying a mechanic. But if you can follow instructions and/or have an experienced friend to guide you, it just takes time to install. it's a job, so decide if the cost is worth the time and effort. When I needed to install a new seatbelt in my 90 NA we had to unbolt it completely to move it just enough to fit the retractor assembly box in behind the front upright. So I now am confident I COULD do it myself - but it really would depend on the time Vs $ issue. It's definitely not something I'd add for cosmetic reasons.
