Flyin' Miata weighted Delrin shift knob
Flyin' Miata weighted Delrin shift knob

Description
You only contact your car in a few places - the steering wheel, the seat, the pedals and the shifter. Changing any of these can have a surprising effect on how your car feels.
The knob is made of Delrin so it won't become scorching hot in the sun or transmit transmission heat to your palm, unlike aluminum knobs. It's slightly taller than stock to give you a little more leverage and to make the gates more distinct. We've also updated the design with a metal insert to add more mass to the knob so you have improved shift feel.

The Delrin shift knob feels silky smooth in the hand, and the symmetrical shape means the shift knob feels the same no matter which gear you are in.
There is also the added security benefit of not having the shift pattern shown. You never know who might be deterred by not seeing the shift pattern.
Overall, one of the simplest, cheapest and most satisfying mods to my 2011 NC2.
I had one of these on my ND1 turbo that had an NC2 transmission in it, and it was amazing. I tried it on my ND2 just now (first time that I have tried this on an ND) and it was way too tall, I don't recommend it for an ND transmission
Great feel, quality is on par with the price, a great buy..
Bought this for my V8/T5 Monster. I like the feel of the Hurst ball that's on it but...
a: would like it to be a bit taller, it sits right down on top of the boot.
b: would like a slightly smaller diameter than the 2 1/8" ball and
c: wanted something that didn't look out of place in the otherwise stock appearing car in and out.
I would like to say it's perfect in all respects but as my car has been out for exhaust for a month I had to try it on my wife's stocker.
Perfect. Nice smooth feel, nice weight. I don't think I'm getting it back...
My '95 came with the stock skinny shift knob and I absolutely hated it. Poked around at all the usual suspects for Miata aftermarket and compared them all including ridiculously over priced flashy shift knobs and more "race oriented" shift knobs.
Decided to just go for it and boy am I happy I did. It's not flashy at all but it feels extremely good in your hand. Rowing threw the gears has never felt so satisfying. Sitting in 90+ degree heat in direct sun it gets warm but not scalding. The weight is just right, the size and shape is perfect for my hand. Totally worthwhile mod and something I would highly recommend, makes interfacing with the car even more of a joy.
