Flyin' Miata weighted Delrin shift knob
Flyin' Miata weighted Delrin shift knob

Description
You only contact your car in a few places - the steering wheel, the seat, the pedals and the shifter. Changing any of these can have a surprising effect on how your car feels.
The knob is made of Delrin so it won't become scorching hot in the sun or transmit transmission heat to your palm, unlike aluminum knobs. It's slightly taller than stock to give you a little more leverage and to make the gates more distinct. We've also updated the design with a metal insert to add more mass to the knob so you have improved shift feel.
Weight (oz) | Height (in) | Weight (g) | Height (mm) | |

I had one of these on my ND1 turbo that had an NC2 transmission in it, and it was amazing. I tried it on my ND2 just now (first time that I have tried this on an ND) and it was way too tall, I don't recommend it for an ND transmission
Great feel, quality is on par with the price, a great buy..
Bought this for my V8/T5 Monster. I like the feel of the Hurst ball that's on it but...
a: would like it to be a bit taller, it sits right down on top of the boot.
b: would like a slightly smaller diameter than the 2 1/8" ball and
c: wanted something that didn't look out of place in the otherwise stock appearing car in and out.
I would like to say it's perfect in all respects but as my car has been out for exhaust for a month I had to try it on my wife's stocker.
Perfect. Nice smooth feel, nice weight. I don't think I'm getting it back...
My '95 came with the stock skinny shift knob and I absolutely hated it. Poked around at all the usual suspects for Miata aftermarket and compared them all including ridiculously over priced flashy shift knobs and more "race oriented" shift knobs.
Decided to just go for it and boy am I happy I did. It's not flashy at all but it feels extremely good in your hand. Rowing threw the gears has never felt so satisfying. Sitting in 90+ degree heat in direct sun it gets warm but not scalding. The weight is just right, the size and shape is perfect for my hand. Totally worthwhile mod and something I would highly recommend, makes interfacing with the car even more of a joy.
This Delrin shift knob is almost perfect. I especially like the feel of the perfectly sized round knob and how it smoothly tapers down on the shaft. It’s very satisfying in the hand! I also like how it’s long enough to meet the leather shifter boot. Size matters!! And I’m fond of the plain design without any logos.
That said, I would prefer if the knob was heavier. It’s much lighter than the stock knob on my 2024 Miata GT Convertible. This new knob seems to have a decent shift feel when rowing through the gears, but I believe it would feel even better if it was heavier, as other reviewers mentioned.
Just a suggestion to the Flyin’ Miata folks to also offer this in a few other colors (like silver and red to match Miata’s interior stitching on a lot of models), and to make an engraved 6-speed shift pattern an optional feature.
Overall I’m happy with this and would order it again.
