Description
FM springs are well known for providing a good balance of street ability and track performance. Their combination of ride height - giving the suspension room to work - and spring rate means your Miata will ride and handle better than you would expect from a set of performance springs.
There's more going on than you think, though. See that section with the tighter coils? Those are designed to act as a secondary spring, keeping the spring from going loose under full droop. While these rates might sound high compared to some other springs on the market, they are stiff enough to keep your car off the bumpstops. Softer springs will often give a worse ride because they allow you to blow through your suspension travel and end up on the stops. We've specified a powdercoat with a high zinc content for extra corrosion resistance, too.
How much will they lower your car? We can't tell you, because Mazda changed the ride height of Miatas over the years. However, if you measure from the center of the wheel to the fender lip, you can compare your car to the final result. It's not a huge drop but once you drive the car you'll appreciate how well it works.
Specifications:
Front springs: 318 lb/in
Rear springs: 233 lb/in
Front ride height: 12.5"
Rear ride height: 13"
Set of four. Not recommended with stock shocks - the higher spring rates are too much for stock shocks to handle. Our favorite shock for these springs is the Koni Sport, which is why we use that shock in our packages. While you can use them with various Bilstein options, we've never felt they work quite as well. These will only work with stock-format shocks, such as our Koni Sports, they won't work with coilovers like V-Maxxes.
Warning: If you run these springs on the stock Bilstein shocks that come in the '04-'05 Mazdaspeed, the rear ride height will be high, around 13.5, due to the Bilstein lower perch being higher than most other shocks.

Needed new springs on my 2001 NB so purchased another brand that was too low and weren't suited to the Koni Sport shocks I had. Eventually ordered these FM springs and received them 7 days after ordering in Aus. Fitted them, had the wheels aligned , and couldn't be happierwith the result. Like the way the sits and now it handles the way I intended.
Thanks FM.....
Just get them.
Installed these on my 93 NA (per FM recommendations), along with MSM Bilsteins and Improved FM Bump Stops. What an incredible improvement in ride quality, handling and overall road feel. It’s very apparent that these have been carefully engineered and manufactured to maximize performance & handling, while still offering a very nice compliant ride.

When I first purchased my 2003 NB, I installed Racing Beat springs in the car, along with Flyin' Miata sway bars. The Racing Beat springs deteriorated within a few years and I replaced them with Flyin' Miata springs. These are excellent springs. Firm, but not too firm. Great for spirited street use.
