Description
For naturally aspirated, Stage 1 turbo, or supercharged Miatas. Full stainless construction 2.25" muffler with a polished 3" tip. Deep, mellow tone with no rasp.
1999-00 automatic cars will need our midpipe as well in order for the parts to mate up. This muffler will bolt up to a stock Mazdaspeed midpipe, but we recommend our Mazdaspeed-specific exhaust on those cars for best fit, sound and power gains.
As with all of our exhausts, it comes with a lifetime warranty. Details.
May not be compatible with some trailer hitch designs.

I’m not happy with this muffler basically $600 and it sounds like a Honda Civic
Sorry that the exhaust note wasn't quite what you wanted for your Miata! We recognize that exhaust sound is very subjective, and it's difficult to convey the differences in sound through written descriptions rather than an audio file for comparison using your ears. We just purchased a (relatively) high-end microphone so we can start recording the sound differences between stock mufflers and ours to provide a better representative comparison for folks, but it will take a bit of time to record the various sound clips and put them up on our website.
Love the sound no more doning in the cabin
Superbe emballage!
The stock muffler on my 2001 Miata was too quiet. The FM muffler adds just the right amount of growl without being too loud or raspy. It's smaller and lighter than the stock muffler. Installation is fairly easy too and the muffler positioned perfectly. All stainless steel (verified with a magnet) means that I don't expect to ever have to replace a muffler again, so it's worth the price of admission. I replaced two of the hangars with FM's polyurethane hangars.
Installed on 2001 NB with the stock mid pipe & resonator still on. The sound is a subtle deeper tone louder than the stock muffler. For more sound i would probably install the FM mid pipe & resonator which i may do later. The muffler is great quality and installation was easy. I reused the stock hangers as they were still good. The welded rods on the new muffler fit on the hangers just right. I would suggest using a hanger removal tool, it worked great and made the removal so much easier. Especially if you reuse the old hangers. Great FM product....
