Description

V-Maxx coilovers give you an adjustable setup for ride and handling. FM sway bars let you adjust your handling balance and make the car corner flatter and transition faster. Mix them together and you get the V-Maxx stage 2 kit - an excellent recipe for handling. It's what the Hammerhead teams used at the punishing Targa Newfoundland.

About the sway bars:

Sway bars are used to make your car corner flatter and react faster by keeping the body (and all the weight) under control. Ours are set up for neutral handling and are adjustable so you can tailor the handling of your Miata to your own driving style.

Our swaybars are hot formed from 4140 CrMo spring steel. This means they're stronger than the cold-formed bars found elsewhere. We've designed them to keep the same handling balance as your stock sways, but they have two settings in the front and three in the rear for fine-tuning. Includes brackets and urethane bushings with waterproof grease.

NA6 sizes are 0.875" front and 0.625" rear.

NA8 sizes are 1.0" front and 0.625" rear. The geometry is different so they are not directly interchangeable. Match your sway bars to your chassis regardless of engine.

About the V-Maxx:

Improved! The rear shocks now have offset bushings for extra clearance between the spring and the halfshafts. This gives you a wider range of height adjustment. We have also gone to a single long front spring to give maximum travel without coil bind.

The XXtreme Sport package comes with 391 lb/in front and 258 lb/in rear spring rates. It`s a decent all-around setup - stiff enough for track and autocross use, firm but useable on the street. Those are the same rates used on our non-adjustable V-Maxx shocks. If you'd like a track-oriented setup with 25% stiffer spring rates, check out our Track Pack for the same price. The springs are also available separately if you'd like to have multiple sets on hand.

So what makes them work?

The adjustable shock damping is well-matched to the springs. A 1/2" shorter rear shock body gives extra compression travel for improved ride and handling, even at lower ride heights. Since the spring perch is adjustable, you have full control over ride height and cornerweighting. The spring rates are 391 lb/in in the front and 258 lb/in in the rear, which gives a good handling balance.

They have a two-year warranty and are available in a TUV approved version with different spring rates.

We've come up with a special package allows NA owners to update their cars to the superior NB specification. It includes a set of upper mounts and all the required bushings and washers to install the later suspension in an early car. This allows you to take advantage of the newer design Mazda developed after 10 years of Miata production. You also don`t reuse any of your original suspension parts, so installation is easier with no spring compressor required.

Not compatible with FM`s rear upper mounts, as this combination provides more compression travel than the suspension can physically deliver. We recommend the use of factory upper mounts only.

Car feels way better

I bought these a long time ago, maybe black friday 2018, i just put them on my car in February 2020 and i cannot believe how much nicer the car is to drive! obviously it's stiffer, but that's really the reason i bought the kit. the shocks match the spring rates pretty good, and the adjustability on the shocks is a pretty cool feature. i have mine set to fairly aggressive damping, and i can drive it to work over Pennslyvania roads without spine injuries. definitely worth the money

Do it, drive the car, check the bolts, go drive it HARDER

So, I have about 300m miles on my new kit at this point. It was a pain in some respects to install and doing it on a driveway can be tough but not insurmountable. A few things:
1. Get a couple pieces of 2x6 as you'll need them once you get all 4 corners on the ground after placing the shocks - standard jacks WILL NOT fit under the car at baseline preload as suggested in instructions
2. Point the adjuster knobs away from the sway bar endlink mounts or you'll run into clearance issues putting the end link bolts in and tightening them
3. Even using the long bolt method, getting the struts to move can be hard, I ended up cutting the springs to get more slack - used the long bolt/angle grinder to the loaded spring combo for the happy meal of easy removal
4. If you car has never had the suspension taken apart or you live in salty places, PB Blaster and a breaker bar will likely be your friend
5. Find an alignment shop ahead of time that can deal with a lowered car - many have rack arms that are 8" tall and the ramps have very short approach angles and simply - I have to go 40m away to get aligned
6. The Racing beat end links are stiff and do not really line up that easily but you just need to deal with it - I heard the FM is solving that problem with their own design but it was not an option for me when I bought my kit
7. Drive it, check the bolts, go drive it HARDER

Simply, 5.5 stars, support from Eric and Kieth on the simple questions was excellent, as it a kit the price beats most everyone else's combination, fit and finish are excellent - do this and you will corner like a go-kart.

Awesome setup, wroth every penny

I just installed this last weekend. I haven't gotten a chance to really push my car, my initial impressions are that my car rides better, and handles better at the same time. Once I get an alignment, I will hit some twisty roads to really see what this suspension can do.
