Description
You only contact your car in a few places - the steering wheel, the seat, the pedals and the shifter. Changing any of these can have a surprising effect on how your car feels.
The knob is made of Delrin so it won't become scorching hot in the sun or transmit transmission heat to your palm, unlike aluminum knobs. It's slightly taller than stock to give you a little more leverage and to make the gates more distinct. We've also updated the design with a metal insert to add more mass to the knob so you have improved shift feel.

I've had my Classic Red NA for about five years, and I've loved being the guy driving the car that looks stock.
When I upgraded my wheels from factory 14" daisies, I got the RML wheels that look like daisies, but are 15x8 (they're gorgeous).
And I put larger FM sway bars on it, because no one can see them, but they really transformed the handling.
So when I considered replacing the factory shift knob, I knew I wanted something discreet.
The Delrin shift knob completely fits the bill, with a soft matte sheen and absolutely no markings to be seen anywhere. Just a smooth curve down to a tapered base.
No chrome, no wood, no shift pattern design, nothing.
Perfection.
The look of the Delrin shift knob from FM is understated, almost stock-looking, but the feel in hand when you go through the gears is just amazing.
The look doesn't attract attention, but it transforms every shift into a smooth and fluid experience.
I didn't realize how 'clunky' the factory NA shift knob felt until I tried something so much better. The factory shift knob feels like a hard, gnarled stick in comparison.
I was really excited when I ordered it, but I honestly did not expect to love it this much!
I've just started using it, and I don't even want to 'get used to it', I want to enjoy this smooth and wonderful new feeling for months and months to come.
Now I know why a group as knowledgeable and discerning as the employees of Flyin' Miata consistently choose this shift knob, it's just that good!
seems good, have yet to drive future racer
This is my second purchase from these guys and I love it. Feels nice, looks nice, shipped fast and even got a cute little christmas themed sticker since I bought it on a black friday sale.
I’m really impressed with this Delrin shift knob. The feel is awesome — smooth, solid, and comfortable even on longer drives. The height extension is perfect and gives the shifter a more natural reach.
What surprised me the most is how much easier it makes both upshifts and downshifts. The leverage and weight feel just right, and every shift is more controlled.
Overall, this is one of the best small upgrades I’ve made. Highly recommend if you want better feel and smoother shifting.
Does a great job preventing burns. Cool even when steamy outside.
Wish it weighed at least as much as the stock knob, but still worth it
