There has never been a really good solution for cupholders in the NA. Sure, you can use the factory option that puts the cup directly behind the shifter but that's just plain awkward. We offer one that fits in the center console but it's not convenient for frequent use. There are generic ones you can adapt, but they're always a little crude.
This cupholder was designed by Willow Design House specifically for the NA Miata along the same lines as the factory one in the ND. A small bracket gets attached permanently to the right side of the center console using an existing screw, and the cupholder itself simply drops into place. This allows you to easily remove it when it's not needed. It's well placed to easily reach or to hold your phone and stays out of the way when you shift. It does intrude on passenger legroom a bit which is why you can remove it necessary.
The cupholder comes in two different sizes. The medium can hold cups up to 3.125" in diameter, such as an 18oz. Yeti water bottle or most takeout coffee cups. The large can hold cups up to 3.5" in diameter, such as a 26oz. Yeti water bottle. The large also has spring loaded tabs (tested to 5000 cycles) to ensure smaller cups don't rattle around.
3D printed in the US out of ASA. Not recommended for use in RHD cars as it will be obtrusive for the driver.
