Description
What kind of oil do you put in a motor that's worth more than some Miatas? Full synthetic. It's thinner at low temperatures and holds viscosity better at higher temperatures than standard oils. Redline is what we use in every car we drive, from full-bore competition cars to fun daily drivers to hard working tow vehicles.
Our recommendations (with capacity for a stock setup):
0w20 for the ND, 4.5 qts
5w20 or 0w20 for NC models (depending on year), 4.5 qts
5w30 for our V8 conversions
10w30 for non-turbo NA/NB, 4 qts
10w40 for turbo NA/NB, 4 qts
20w50 for track use only NA/NB (4 qts) or classic Minis

Great product
Oil is a complicated subject, and you should do some homework before deciding which oil to use in your car for your particular purpose. Redline is a Group V oil if my memory serves. Look into that, and you'll probably understand why it costs what it does, and what it can do for engine longevity.
Worth mentioning that I have an oil lab analyze my oil samples before each change to monitor engine condition. Anecdotally, Redline is pretty great stuff. Scientifically, I don't put enough miles on my cars to really tell you things like optimal drain intervals, ppm data, that sort of thing. Nothing on my sample reports has ever given me cause for concern since switching to Redline.
