Description
Sway bars are used to make your car corner flatter and react faster by keeping the body (and all the weight) under control. Ours are set up for neutral handling and are adjustable so you can tailor the handling of your Miata to your own driving style.
Our swaybars are hot formed from 4140 CrMo spring steel. This means they're stronger than the cold-formed bars found elsewhere. We've designed them to keep the same handling balance as your stock sways, but they have two settings in the front and three in the rear for fine-tuning. Includes urethane bushings with waterproof grease and front brackets. You will reuse your stock rear brackets.
1990-93 sizes are 0.875" front and 0.625" rear, and they're both solid. These bars have a different geometry than the ones found on 1994-05 models, so the stiffness difference is not as great as you might think from simply looking at the diameters. Also, because of this geometry change, we don't recommend using them on the later cars.

I’ve had my 1990 Classic Red NA for about five years, and it’s largely stock. When I upgraded from the stock 14X6 daisy wheels and some really old tires to something better, I decided it was also time to upgrade the sway bars.
Flyin’ Miata is a recognized leader in the world of Miatas, so they were the first place I looked. I paid a shop to install them along with some other maintenance work, so I can’t speak to the ease of installation.
However, the transformation in handling is absolutely phenomenal! The car corners flatter, and seems more nimble.
There are absolutely no drawbacks in terms of ride quality, harshness, or anything else negative. If all the routine maintenance work is done, and you’re ready to start making things better with your Miata, I can’t recommend Flyin’ Miata sway bars strongly enough!
And as an added bonus, their customer service is always wonderful…. Cooperative, friendly and professional. It’s good to buy Miata stuff from people who ‘get it’, in terms of how fun they are…
I have a low-mileage (26K) 1990 with a suspension that is probably original and needs quite a bit of work. The first step was to install these sway bars and I couldn't be happier with the result. I wasn't looking for anything too aggressive and chose the recommended settings. The car now corners much flatter than it did with the stock bars. The installation was easy using the Flyin' Miata sway bar installation video on YouTube. It took me between 2-3 hours over two weekends because of my other obligations.
Now that I have the body roll under control, I can focus on shocks and springs. This is the second set of Miata sway bars I've purchased (the other was for a 2013) and I'm confident it should be the first purchase for anyone looking to improve their suspension feel. Excellent product, highly recommended.
absolutely love these! look amazing & improvements are very noticeable on my '90 NA! thank you!!
Parts have a good finish, fit correctly, and are an obvious upgrade over stock. Order processing and Shipping was fast, and when I inquired about the sway bar rates, I was responded to promptly and accurately. My only concern with these parts is the fasteners included. They are grade 10.9 electroplated silver, hex cap type with washer. I am someone who likes a factory look, so I would have preferred a flanged fastener with a olive drab or black finish. But, still at least it was a 10.9 I didn't use it, but I am sure it does the job just fine.
I purchased a set of sway bars front and rear and the billet sway bar brackets front and rear and end links for front and rear for my 1990 it is a 30K miles car, so everything is in good shape to start with. What a difference I was amazed when I pulled out of the driveway. The car responds quicker on turn-in and is more planted than before. It's worth the money.
