Description
Fully open your trunk lid with the press of the open button - no more popping slightly open, then pulling it up the rest of the way. Convenient when you have to open the trunk of the car with your hands full. Note that the trunk lid can sit slightly proud of the fenders when closed, thanks to the pressure from this kit.
This kit may not work with extra weight on the lid, like a heavy liner, luggage rack, wing, aftermarket spoiler, etc.
Not compatible with the Fiat 124.

Early this year, I ordered the Trunk Poppers. Was disappointed, to say the least. They absolutely did not work, despite resorting to higher pressure gas pistons, were still a no-go.
So, when I saw these new versions, with a heavier spring, because the older ones wouldn't pop a trunk with a tail or rack. That was some information I could have used 9 months ago...
Today, received the new ones. I replaced the factory gas pistons, and swapped out the Poppers, squinted my eyes, crossed my fingers, and hit the switch...POP-SWISH! So, after a little happy dance (and the neighbors shaking their heads...again), I closed the trunk, and hit the remote again, and again and again. Despite my Club not only having a tail, but the larger and heavier tail from Moss, AND the red LED strip lighting from FM, the trunk now pops open like Lightning McQueen talking from his as..um...exhaust.
You never know what you need, until you have it, and wonder how you got along all this time without it!

Does not pop the trunk with the carbon fiber wing I have on the Miata, I did not realize it wouldn’t be strong enough…
Sorry this didn't work out for your specific setup! This kit was created for the stock trunk lid and was not tested with any trunk lid-mounted wings. We've since added a note in the product listing to clearly indicate this information.
Installed in less than 5 minutes with no fuss and opens the truck smoothly and very quickly.
Installing these took about 15 minutes, including the time spent studying the instructions. Super simple.
The action of the trunk is really cool, it almost looks hydraulic. Money well spent if you hate juggling and dropping groceries while trying to open the lid.
