Description
Hard Dog roll bars are great in all sorts of ways, but it's tough to cut the carpet for the rear supports perfectly - it almost always looks a bit rough. Avoid that problem altogether with this trim kit. This kit has 3D-printed collars that cover the cut carpet, giving a clean and professional look. The outside diameter is 3", so any cuts that fall outside that size will still be visible.
The two-piece interlocking design is easy to install, and the nylon-tipped stainless steel set screws hold them securely in place without marring your powder coat.
Be sure to choose the correct version for your roll bar! Not sure what style you have? As long as it's a Hard Dog roll bar, 1.5" diameter tubing is a Sport bar and 1.75" tubing is a Hard Core bar. The Hard Core trim kit is the same for NA and NB bars, but the Sport kit is different - if your Sport rear supports are straight, it's an NA, if they have a bend, it's an NB. Bear in mind that there are lots of NB Sport bars in NAs, as those are required if your soft top has a glass window. For the sake of simplicity, we sell the NB Sport bar as a 1990-05, as it will fit that entire year range great.
No interference with a factory glass window. If you have an aftermarket bar and it comes very close to the bar, the window may rest on these trim pieces when down.
As long as the tubing diameter matches, these could fit other brand roll bars as long as they're the same general design. These won't work with bars of a different style, such as our Hard Dog Deuce roll bar, even if the tubing diameter is correct. If you're using them with roll bars of a different brand but the same general style, the trim may or may not be parallel to the package shelf (i.e., the rear support angle on your bar may or may not match the Hard Dog bars). The carpet and dark color gives you a bit of leeway, but we can't guarantee perfect fitment.

Covers a larger area than I expected. I REALLY messed up my first carpet cut and this covers i’d say 80% of it. The side i didn’t mess up you’d never know what’s going on under it.
My only gripe is with the set wcrew, i went until snug as instructions say, but it still felt as though i was stripping the threads.
I bought these items hoping that they might be able to make the roll bar look neater on the rear shelf as its soooo difficult to get the carpet cut perfectly around the rollbar.
I have a Hard Dog centre braced Deuce rollbar and the fit of these collars is not amazing. I can see how on other models of roll bar they can fit and look good. But on on the Deuce centre brace bar the angles aren't right for the centre brace support and the interlocking slots on the collars then don't engage properly. I personally find the slot engagement fit a little sloppy. It should "snap" together, whereby the slots are a slight interference fit with one another when in the bar. With this design the slots just loosely interlock, which is Ok but for me not ideal.
Additionally. the little grub screw on the side will likely hold the collar on for a while, but I can see how over time and after a few bumpy roads the collar will most likely work its way loose. The slightly sloppy fit I experienced could be a function of the collar fit not being specifically made for my roll bar, others may have a much better fit experience on their install.
Some additional information and photos on the confirmed fit for different roll bars would be good. Some people have posted their photos which is very useful.
Its a great idea, just needs a bit more refinement/development (or different version) to optimise the fit for some roll bars.
Thanks for your feedback, John! As you discovered, these particular trim kits are specific to the angle of the bar they are attached to, so the fit is dependent on getting that part right. Unfortunately, we do not currently have a trim kit designed to fit with the Deuce bars, so we don't have an option that will fit perfectly for your car. We don't have the means to test every roll bar out there, so we can only list fitment for what we have access to and can confirm fitment. Sorry it didn't work out for your car!
Made the appearance of the roll bar and carpet look finished and complete. So happy I purchased these, finished the look I was going for perfectly!!! If you are hesitant in if you need them or not, you definitely DO!!! You will be glad you did.
However it is only really viable for the two side braces as they are at the proper angle. The front hoops bases have the following problems:
1. the outer sides of the hoops are too close to the trim panels
2. the inner sides of the hoops have two problems: first they are only angled back at 4 degrees, and second, they and the outer hoop bases are too close to the downward curve of the shelf panel.
So I can wholeheartedly recommend the trim kit for the side braces on a SIDE BRACED Hard Dog Deuce Bar; don't get them for the front though. I did buy two kits to see if they would work on the front center sides of the two hoops, so if I find a way to get them to work there, I'll let Flyin' Miata know.
