I purchased this rearview camera and decided to tackle the job myself after watching the video that FM provided. It really is as straight forward as mentioned already. Install can be done within a couple hours moving at a slow pace and everything is provided for the install. My camera kept popping out a slight bit after going over bumps due to me (im assuming) not reaming out enough material from the bumper. So instead of disconnecting/removing and reaming the cam I reinforced it with some JB Weld plastic bonder and added a smooth finished seem around the setup. Works like a charm, also gives the extra feel of security. The cam will adjust from shade to bright sun automatically and has a few display options to play around with. Overall I think this is a very good deal if youre looking for a quality camera with easy installation.
Watched their installation video for tips and tricks. I'm used to disassembling the vehicle, so I took close to 30 minutes from start to finish. Definitely a solid upgrade.
Watched the Video a few times . Was still nervous about taking the dash apart.
So I started with the camera & did all the trunk work first for a warm up.
Threading the wire through the trunk grommet was the toughest part.
Think I was "up to speed" when I did the Dash/ interior a few days later. & I then just plugged in the camera when I got back to the trunk. Everything worked fine. & I was pleased with my installation order.

This really is a great camera and it works perfectly with the factory infotainment head unit. The picture quality is very good and the video displays on the screen instantly when I put the car in reverse, even if it the system is booting up. As others have mentioned, the lines on the overlay do not match the width of the car, but I just bought it for rear visibility when backing with the top up and it suits the need perfectly. The camera mounts securely and stays in place, held in place by clips on the mount and strong adhesive tape. Wait until the very end to install the tape. The installation instructions and video provided by FM are excellent and tell you everything you need to know to install it. I definitely recommend this.
I put the camera into a 2017 RF. Installation wasn’t easy but was exactly as the demo video had shown it. Camera works great
