Description
The classic example of an inexpensive part that's expensive to replace. If your rear main seal starts to leak, you can contaminate your clutch. You need to pull the transmission and flywheel to get to it, so we strongly recommend changing this seal whenever you have the clutch off. Fits all NA and NB Miatas and included in our engine rebuild kit.
It's a bit tricky to get into place just right, so we recommend using our special install tool.

Replaced my old leaking rear main seal while I was doing the clutch. Worked fine for me and fixed my leak.
This rear main seal is very fragile and overpriced for what it is. I screwed it up because I accidentally chipped off a piece of the rubber I suggest just going with an oem one or fel-pro.
This is the first we've heard of this issue and is very surprising. As with any seal, it's important to lube the inside edge and be careful as you install it. We reached out to Liam to get more details, but never heard back.
