Description
Finally, searching for the elusive factory power steering delete bracket is over. Our complete power steering pump delete kit comes with everything you need to remove your power-robbing power steering pump while keeping your air conditioning intact. The anodized aluminum bracket is both lightweight and sturdy, and the automatic belt tensioner eliminates the need to set proper belt tension, making setup a breeze. The kit includes all essential hardware and the correct-sized belt. Please note that this kit does not include the parts necessary to depower your steering rack.
Be aware that the included belt won't work with 2004-05 Miatas (including all Mazdaspeed Miatas), thanks to their smaller AC pulley. We offer the correct size belt for the 2004-05 Miatas here.
Color note: The pictures show a prototype in blue, production versions have black anodizing. Blue is not available.

Top down or top up, air conditioning isn't optional for six months out of the year in this part of Florida. Power steering is. When the power steering on the NB failed twice and, of course, took the A/C with it, it was time to get creative. The solution, one that allowed us to keep the cold air flowing, was the power steering pump delete kit from Flyin' Miata. It took the mechanic about two hours to install, and he had nothing but praise for the kit and the ease of installation when he finished up the job.
In his words, "this is a good part!" With temps beginning to edge into the 90s, the A/C is blowing colder than before - and right on time. And there seems to be a boost in performance.
I'm happy, my mechanic is happy, the NB is happy.
Love the fitment and design of the kit! Makes maintenance much easier in the future!
The bracket and tensioner are great. However, the 795 belt that came with the kit was too large. When the A/C is turned on the belt would slip. After looking under the hood I noticed that the tensioner was bottomed out (providing max displacement ). I had to buy a smaller belt (785) for 12 bucks.
This isn’t that big of a deal, but for almost 200 bucks I am disappointed. My car is a 1994 NA8 and has both a stock crank pulley and A/C pulley. I couldn’t find any information online about anyone having the same issue so I thought I’d post this here.
(I tried to slip a 775 on but it was just too small to get over the crank pulley. I might have been able to pry it on with a screwdriver or plastic pry bar.)
This is the first time we've heard any complaints like this, and we're having trouble figuring out what could be causing it. We've reached out to Jason about it but haven't heard back in the last couple of weeks. Jason, please reach out to us so we can figure out what's going on.
Let's be honest, nobody wanted to pay $200+ for the bulky OEM PS Delete pulley. Here comes FM with another beautifully machined piece (albeit, black anodized would have been so much nicer) that is plug and play and solves an issue I've had since depowering my steering rack. Hot summers plus leather seats sucks, especially without functioning AC. 30 minute install at most if you're goofing off.
I paired this with a professionally depowered rack with welded pinion, poly bushings and new extended ball joints/ R model tie rod ends
Excellent. No clearance issues, AC spins up just as well as before. The extra few horsepower coming out of tight corners is noticeable. Feel is excellent.
Highly recommend.
