Description
Give your ND more air and a different look!
Your stock grille has a big black bar right across the top, blocking airflow and looking clunky. This replacement is open from top to bottom, allowing for more airflow as well as a much cleaner look. It's based on the grille that Mazda put on their Spyder show car. It just looks right when you see it in person.
The new design allows for more room for heat exchangers, so we really like it on cars that run our coolers or see a lot of track use.
ABS plastic, bolts straight in. There's a bumper skin support built into the stock grille. You can either cut it off and reuse it (see the pictures for details) or leave it off, in which case the skin will be a little more flexible above the grille.

Thanks for your order, J.P.! It looks like the fitment turned out pretty well from the picture you've provided, but maybe you're talking about something on the backside of the grille. We've installed a few of those grilles here at FM, so feel free to reach out to us direclty if you need help with the fitment.
I installed this on my manual 2024 Miata ND3 - the year Mazda re-wired the car. This model and newer in the U.S. has an unused wire with a couple of connections hooked onto the factory grill assembly. This is for the radar component which is not on the U.S. manual miata (is in Canada). As such, this wiring harness dead ends, but it attached to the grill. So I disconnected it, left the unused wires on the stock grill and the other end I taped to the frame to get it out of the way. Re-assembled and started it up to two i-Activesense errors:
1. In-Vehicle Communication Network Malfunction
2. Forward Sensing Camera Malfunction: i-Activesense advanced safety and driver support systems may not operate correctly.
Also, 4 or 5 new lights on the dash showing malfunctions. Yikes.
I found people on other sites reporting the same errors and concluding that the spyder grill will not work on the ND3 models. Not true.
I figured that the computer saw the disconnected lead that I taped up and freaked out even though it was only connected to a dead end connection to a non-existent radar. My theory was right.
After disassembling the whole thing again, carefully detaching the unused wiring from the factory grill, plugging them together and zip-tying everything in place, I started it up. No more errors. Double checked by unplugging and restarting again. The errors were back as suspected. Plugged it back in, verified one last time, re-assembled it all and all the i-Activesense stuff was back online with no error.
As a software guy myself, I see why the computer expects this connection, but it is kind of dumb, However, this hack works and confirms the spyder grill has no problems on the ND3. Go for it. It looks great.
Also, I did not cut up the factory upper grill assembly to reinforce under the bumper cover that the instruction mention as optional. You really don't need to. Save that factory grill to reuse another day.
Great looking grille. Supposedly it helps with cooling and if so that’s great. I think it looks better than the stock grille. It would be great if someone could make a version that includes the upper supports like the stock grille. I cut up my stock one so the nose wouldn’t lose rigidity . That’s the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars.
Changes the whole front end. I have a 2017 and people still ask me what I'm driving. Not that I'm trying to disguise it, but it sets the car apart.
Love the way the front end looks with this grill. A little disappointed with the fit and finish of this product. A few of the clips that secure the top side would not grab onto this grill. This leaves a small amount of misalignment on the top side. For the price, should not have this issue.
