Description
If you've ever done an oil change on an NC, you know that it's perfectly designed to drool oil all over the subframe. This means it continues to dribble and make a mess. Until now!
Our oil filter mess saver is a little waterslide for oil that sits under the filter and redirects the oil away from the subframe. No more mess! It's designed to be permanently installed on the subframe using existing holes and supplied hardware. It sits neatly in cutouts in the subframe for perfect positioning. Alternately, you can temporarily slot it into place for an oil change - just remember to take it out again after.
Made of carbon fiber reinforced nylon which is able to deal with hot engine oil and solvents, so you can clean it off with brake clean when you're done.

Installation was so easy. Works beautifully.
My first oil change with the funnel in place. First I opened the Fumoto valve on the oil pan and drained that (left it draining while I got lunch, so the sump was EMPTY when I closed the Fumoto valve and moved the catch pan under the FM funnel. I then loosened the filter, and as oil ran down the filter body, the FM funnel worked as designed - it caught the oil and directed over to the catch pan, with nothing getting on the subframe. Of course the filter was still covered in oil and full of oil when the draining stopped. So I used an awl and punched a hole in the filter bottom. and let the filter drain into the funnel. I just had to wipe the funnel down when done with an oil-absorbent mat I get from New Pig. Next time, I'll just punch the hole in the filter and let it drain that way, which should mean much less mess and easier filter removal replacement. The only slight drawback to the funnel is that it mounts on top of the subframe, slightly reducing the room you have to remove the old filter and install the new filter.
Bottom line, this makes the process a little more complicated, but much cleaner and reduces the time spent.
Made it so much easier th change the oil!
Been waiting for this invention since I got my NC.
My cardboard setup can now be thrown out.
