Magnetic oil drain plug helps protect the engine by collecting metallic particles before they get fed through the oil system. Comes with one washer. We also sell additional washers. Fits NA, NB and NC Miatas. Not compatible with the ND.

It's nice to have a megetic drain plug, and the plug itself is great. But, the magnet is glued on. I find this surprising as this doesn't seem like something FM would usually do. I would be surprised if it broke off, but it's not the most robust solution IMO.

We're not entirely sure what kind of epoxy is used to hold the magnetic tip in place on the end of the drain plug threads, but it seems to be sturdy stuff and perfectly functional for its intended purpose. From our experience using and selling these magnetic oil drain plugs over the years, we've never had the magnetic plug come off. However, if something does happen, please let us know and we'll make sure to take care of you!
Installed the plug about 4 oil changes ago. Changed oil last weekend and found a valve keeper stuck to the magnet (225K miles).
Magnet is weak and held on by glue. You can get almost the exact same plug from any autozone for less than half the price.
