Description
These hood lifts are easy to install and give you more room to work on your car. No more hood prop in the way! Great for show cars or weekend mechanics. Fits with our superchargers. Sorry, the V8 engine is not included.
Miatas changed a bit over the NC production run, so please read the following fitment information carefully.
2006 – 2008, all transmissions: fits as-is.
2009 – 2012 automatic trans: fits as-is.
2009 – 2012 manual trans w/o resonance chamber on intake: fits as-is.
2009 – 2012 manual trans w/ resonance chamber on intake: remove chamber or use adapter bracket (below).
2013 – 2015 Miatas: not compatible.
For V8 swaps, it will fit 2006-12 models as-is.

It took a minute to figure out from the images how to add the two sided hood lift mechanism/struts. For me it was not immediately intuitive. However, , , Once I figured it out, , , Genius!! Quick, easy why was this not offered OEM? Installation used spaces as though Mazda knew someone would need them. Now they are installed and working, they are fantastic! The advertisement talked about the hood going higher. Not really any height difference.
Although the item arrived with one bent bolt, FM offered me one of theirs from off their shop car, since there aren’t currently anymore in stock. That was unexpected, and I’m happy with their quick response and solution offer. I was able to get the bolt in with a lot of difficulty, but other than that the lift kit is working properly.
So this was a 'nice to have' addition. Was not necessary but I wanted it.
So the install was as simple as possible. Took about 20 minutes. Works great
ONLY and I mean ONLY issue is/was: one of the socket ends was a bit snug going over the ball fitting on the bracket. Stopped be for about 2 minutes..... I took a pair of channelocks and ushered it on. ( going to be an issue if I ever have to replace it )
Side note... does not lift the hood any higher but works as expected.

These do exactly what they're supposed to by lifting the hood a little higher and allowing you to get rid of the stock hood prop. The hood raises and lowers with very little effort. The difficulty lies in installing them — the illustrations on the instructions are tiny and the instructions are written in German, technical German at that! Which means that your high school German is not sufficient and on-line translators will not recognize many of the terms. What isn't really too difficult an installation took far longer than needed due to poor illustrations and lack of instructions in English. That said, I love 'em but can only give them a four-star rating.
