Description

Improved! We've gone to a new friction disc design with a thinner disc and a lower profile marcel spring to decrease the amount of pedal throw necessary. This means there is less need for pedal adjustment.

Our original supplier has been purchased by another company - which, overall, is a very good thing - and there are struggles in getting things back online, so we don't have an ETA for these parts at this time. We're still working on it, but at this point we can't even guess. Thanks for your patience, please be sure to click the "notify when available" button so you'll know as soon as they're back in stock.

We worked with a major clutch manufacturer for over a year to make these clutches a reality. The goal was to build the most friendly Miata clutch on the planet. We've run them in a number of our cars, including the most powerful Miata to ever run on our dyno. Many thousands of miles later, we're really happy with the result and so are our customers.

The Level 2 is for serious power cars only. Pedal effort is substantial, so if you don't have 300 hp or more, stick with a Level 1. The Level 2 is rated for 353 lb-ft at the crank, and is suitable for turbo and supercharged cars with built engines. It's stronger than your transmission! Our general rule of thumb is that if you have forced induction and upgraded engine internals, this is your clutch.

1.8 size only, although it can be used on a 1.6 if you also use a 1.8 flywheel.

Includes the clutch switch over-ride, pilot bearing, throwout (release) bearing and clutch alignment tool.

The friction material is a steelback copper woven organic material.

We strongly recommend replacing seals while you're in there - they don't go bad too often, but it's a big job to get to them! We also strongly recommend using our installation tool with the rear crank seal, to ensure that you don't cause a problem that didn't exist. Plus, the tool is less than a new seal. Also, please be aware that 5-speed transmissions need the transmission input gasket, but 6-speeds do not.

Note: This clutch was designed for the Miata engine and transmission - we're unable to guarantee fitment with engine swaps, although it's certainly possible. If a stock clutch will work ours should as well, but check with the manufacturer of the kit.

This clutch just doesn’t like my car I guess

This is the second of these I have bought and installed the first I did not follow proper instructions second time around I did full break in and all made sure to thoroughly go step by step it’s been about 1,300 miles and it disengages but about half inch to a inch off the floor idk if that’s normal but my clutch fork vibrates so much the chirp is crazy I have lathered the end of the fork where it meets the slave with high temp grease time and time again but the raddle/chirp won’t stop there’s to much vibration in the fork (brand new clutch fork, slave, steel clutch line and master cylinder ) at idle not sure if this clutch will even last another thousand miles did zero clutch dumps and only a few pulls after the 500+ mark for tuneing reasons

Isaac's experience isn't something we've seen before. We've been working with him for about a month, trying to sort out what's going on with the second clutch, with the hopes of reaching a positive conclusion and posting an updated review. While we've been working through the possibilities with him, he's submitted two more one-star reviews, so we'll publish this one now, prior to a conclusion - we're absolutely not going to censor reviews, but we also want to try to solve the issue before posting a negative review. We're also not going to publish (essentially) the same review three separate times, but we want to be transparent about what he wanted posted. In the interest of full disclosure, here are his other reviews:

NOT A GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT
So I have bought this clutch twice now the first time I did no adjustments and was totally my fault in why it didn’t last the second install I meticulously went over every step to make sure I properly installed this clutch I also made sure to brake it in properly I have also readjusted the pedal at 1,000 as per instructions and now at 1,300 the clutch only disengages a half inch to about maybe a inch if that off the floor Iam not sure if that is normal also I have so much vibration in my clutch fork its outrageous the chirp will not be fixed by anything no high temp grease no nothing will fix the vibration or noise in the pedal the vibration and noise come from the end of the fork and slave I have wrote this review before and for some reason just disappeared I was really expecting something more high quality for the price

THESE SUCKS
3rd time Iam writing a review just don’t buy this clutch it sucks it’s to much of a hassle I went into detail with the other reviews but since this one will prolly be deleted to just don’t buy it

Quite nice

I was reluctant to write a review until I had enough time using this clutch. It's been a year since I installed their Stage 2 clutch paired with an ACT prolite flywheel.

It's great. Well worth the money. It's lasted quite well despite plenty of abuse shifting and dumping at high RPM. If you have any amount of skill in driving manual you'll find it easy to slip the clutch from a stop. First timers will struggle, brutally.

You'll see mixed opinions online regarding the pedal effort. I regularly drive another miata with a fully stock clutch and flywheel. This one is Probably 50% stiffer than the stock clutch. In my opinion, that's good, the stock one is too soft for my liking.

My only reservation is I have a bit of transmission gear chatter. This is very likely a result of using a much lower inertia flywheel, however stiffer clutch disc springs may also play a part in this. It's hard to make a definitive conclusion since I never ran this clutch with the stock flywheel.

All in all, 100% the best upgrade I've made to the car.

Great Clutch

Got the Level 2 and light weight flywheel and it's a great combination. Great for autocross but very easy to drive on the street. Just remember to readjust the master cylinder push rod after the ~1000 mile break in and all will be well. Can't wait to add a turbo and really use the grip this clutch provides. Flyin Miata customer service is awesome.

These suckkkk

Dont buy these been through like 5 or so of these things they suck dood

Note from FM - this hasn't been our experience, please reach out so we can try to help. Bear in mind that you must use the included heavy-duty release bearing, using a stock Miata bearing will cause a failure.

320wtq & 320whp holding great

Very stuff pedal, make sure to adjust the clutch pedal properly. But so far holding everything I give it. I am curious to see if it will hold up to 400hp but I am optimistic
