Description

If you're going to the track, it's always a good plan to have a tow hook. It's required for race cars, but even at a track day you don't want to be That Guy who's stuck in the gravel trap with no means of extrication.

You can use the factory one if you want, but you've only got one of them and it's got an awfully small ring in it. It's also not legal for racing for this reason.

Our Flyin' Miata tow hooks screw into the threaded receiver behind the front bumper, giving a solid mounting point and eliminating any chance of paint damage. The hook itself rotates for best access. They meet SCCA regulations for size and location. They can be installed for the day or left in place permanently if you want everyone to know what you do on weekends.

Sold individually. If you want tow points at each end of your NC, you'll need two. Please note that these don't fit the Fiat 124, they're too short.

Easy installation with a 19mm wrench.

Works as advertised

Ran out of gas at VIR. Tow truck hooked up the strap and I said "let's see if these are legit." It was not a gentle tow, but it was a successful tow back to paddock. 10/10 will probably run out of gas again with no worries.

Great product and support

Seems well made, easy to install. Adjustment screws allow you to keep them tight so they don't flap. Staff was eager to help when I had questions.

Aluminum loop, not steel

My first review less than 5 stars.

FM folding tow hooks used to be all steel. Their video and printed catalog still say so. But the loop material has been changed to aluminum on the new ND tow hooks. They still appear well made. The shaft is still made of hard chrome plated steel, and is a reassuringly snug fit with the threads on the car.. the loop attachment hardware is all steel. the alloy loop looks up to the task, but will get beat up if attached directly to a steel tow truck hook, weakening it. Make certain your track uses a cloth strap to attach to a stranded car. I will, carry an Inexpensive cloth tow strap in my car on track days. Cheap insurance I hope to never need.
