Description
Looking for a way to hold the crank in place as you torque down the big crank bolt? Or maybe to hold the crank in place as you take the old one off? Here's your solution. It's a direct copy of the home-made one we've been using at the FM shop since the early 90s.
One end fits the short nose 1990-91 crank, the other fits the 1991-05 big nose. Simply attach with the bolts from your accessory pulley and lean on that center bolt all you want. Laser cut and cadmium plated for forever life without the sharp edges of stainless steel.
Perfect for a club toolbox or at home. Will drastically reduce profanity usage during a timing belt change. Now compatible with our ATi damper!

Easy to use, made torquing the crank bolt easy!
Make sure when you use this tool, you have 2 of the 10mm pulley bolts properly tightened down through the holes the tool has. I’d recommend going to torque spec with said bolts; that way the tool sits perfectly straight and you can get the best performance out of your tool AND the bolts, so they don’t break. Make sure to lean this tool up against your thermostat neck and NOT any other components in the engine, as it’s not designed to sit anywhere else. It has a decent chance of warping or shearing the 10mm bolts, or even bending the tool itself. I learned the hard way, and Flyin’ Miata generously sent me another one for free.
I was not able to use the tool to remove the crank bolt because the pulley was rusted on. In came in handy to torque a new bolt in to spec.
I bought before I understood why I needed it. Doing my timing belt for the first time. This tool bolted on and allowed me to get the job done. Don't forget that FM Ninja when loosening the Cam gears
The tool and everything was perfect , I’m flying again
