Description
Over time, your top latches wear and get loose. We've actually seen ones so bad that the top will come unlatched on the interstate. That's a surprise when that happens.
There's no adjustment for this. So we offer these replacement latches with a few bonus features. Not only will they restore a nice solid click to your top latches, you can adjust them to compensate for wear on the rest of the mechanism. They come with an alternate screw that will make them essentially into a lock, great for latches you rarely want to remove like a hardtop. They even come with a replacement E clip for when you launch the original into orbit when trying to remove it!
Available in low-key black or "press here to eject" red. Engraved with the FM initials.
Easy installation. Sold in pairs - that's enough for one soft top. A hardtop will need two sets if you want to do all four latches. Fits all NA and NB Miatas.
Don't forget to check your top lock caps (sold individually) and hardware (sold as a kit) as well.

My originals were shot and no longer latched. I opted for the red latches for a little contrast. The first one took me about 15 minutes to install. The second one took about two minutes. These work as advertised and do not hesitate to try them. A blue or silver option may be nice.
The video provided to install these is great, only problem is I had significant difficulty getting the latch to line up. Finally got it in, and realized the latch lock was frozen, and it was impossible to press, even when the spring and pin was properly installed. Took it apart again to find the issue, and when compared to the locks I took off, the latch locks I received are significantly wider and marginally longer and dont fit. They can not move/rotate inside the cutout in the latch itself. I had to take a steel file and remove material from the latch to make it work. I noticed someone else also had the same issue in another review, so someone at FM may need to start double checking their CNC machine's settings before producing more of these.
Sorry to hear you ran into issues, J.B.! We haven't experienced this issue before - that's very odd. We tried emailing and calling you to see if we could help figure out what went wrong, but we haven't heard back from you. Please contact us directly so we can help you get this resolved and get more information about the specifics of your latches. Thanks!
These were inexpensive and worked incredibly well to renew my soft top latches, 100% would buy again!!!
Nice!!!!
Latch was floppy before. Latch is tight now. Be sure to replace the little nubby bit too.
