Adjustable timing wheel for NB

I don’t have a dyno and I don’t have data, so this review is purely subjective. I am fairly mechanically inclined. This job took maybe 3-3.5 hours to do. Most of the time was spent fighting the lower alternator bolt (IYKYK). Then the pulley was seized on the engine. So I spent another good 30 minutes very gently prying, tapping, wiggling, etc. until it broke free.

After all of that nonsense was out of the way, the timing wheel slid right on. I had no issues where others said it didn’t fit or needed filed etc. With careful review of the instructions I adjusted the wheel full advanced and then slightly backed off to maybe 12° total. Before I installed this, I’d already started running super premium gas knowing this install was coming.

Once I got everything back together, I fired the engine and it idled perfect. I took it for a drive and I might feel just a slight bump in the 3-4k rpm range. I’ve got no knocks or odd sounds. Now that the wheel is in place, adjusting to 14° will be quick and easy. Overall, solid product… works as expected.

Pretty easy to install and yes it makes a positive improvement. Revs a little quicker in mid range and doesn’t flatten out at 6k like it did before.

The power comes on sooner at lower rpm, and pulls harder at higher rpm. On an old, 240k mile engine, this mod really woke the car up. A definite must-do for any naturally aspirated Miata, even if you're not a power hog. For the price and ease of install, it's hard to beat.

Very nice part, little powder coat inside the ID of the crankshaft hole. Some 180 sandpaper and slide right on. Car seems to have better idle, and just got its first tank of 93 octane fuel.

Order. Came in fast and works as should. I installed it in about 30 mins with no issues. Went right on. I let.the car warm up. Set the timing and boom. Better feel and response. I would recommend.
