Description
Originally known as the "M2", this is our favorite street bar for the 1990-05 cars. It works with all factory tops - hard and soft, glass or plastic window. It doesn't affect seat travel. The bar is well placed to stay clear of your head while still providing protection. Made of 1.5" DOM tubing.
The biggest downside to this bar is that it's not as tall as the Hard Core. The top of the bar is 19" above the rear parcel shelf. This may be an issue when dealing with your local track day organizers, so we recommend checking the necessary clearance required. Most of them will know this bar by name.
The design has been tweaked to accept a wider variety of top designs - it will now clear a glass window that is up to an inch larger than the stock NB window. Stock glass windows (and the inflexible border) measure about 32-1/4" at the widest point near the top (where your window needs to slip between the rear supports of the roll bar when the top is down).
Available with no diagonals (best rearward vision), single diagonal (worst rearward vision), and double diagonal (in-between rearward vision, our most popular version).
If you'd like to use a harness, the bolt-in harness bar fits nicely.
Shipping note: These bars will be drop-shipped from the manufacturer. These bars are usually kept in stock. If not, depending on where the bars are in the production process, it could take approximately 2-6 weeks for delivery. Since they're drop-shipped, the tracking number process isn't automated and could be delayed.
If you would like one shipped outside the US, or if you're in Alaska or Hawai'i, please contact Hard Dog Fabrication directly.

Great looking bar and easy install ; however I am a professional technician. DIY, plan on at least a full day, or possible weekend. Fit and finish is great.!
I recommend a right angle drill with short pilot bits. This will allow you to drill at least two holes in the top mounts. Right angle works great for drilling from the bottom too. A right angle mini air grinder with a tapered burr bit works great too for getting a hole through in tight spots.
The only issue I ran into was that my top frame contacts the sides of the bar , and it has torn my new roll bar cover on both sides. It is because my top frame has play side to side. If you are putting the top up and down by yourself, you have to be very careful and methodical putting the top up and down. With a person on each side, it’s much easier to avoid this issue. My plan is too repairing the vinyl, and then put a clear puncture proof film in that spot to help the scraping. In addition, sanded down some of the folding edges on the frame to prevent gouging. Please see enclosed photo.
Overall, I am still super happy with this bar and purchase! Just be cautious when operating the top up and down. Without the pad and cover, the frame can still scrape against the bar sides , scratching it.
I thought it was going to be more of a pain to install this than it was. Followed the video guide published by FM and it was a breeze. I only wish that I hadn’t gone as crazy with cutting the shelf up. I thought it would be more of a pain to do all of the install and so I didn’t take the time there that I should have. I ended up using a couple of pieces of hardboard to clean up my carelessness
Love it been on my car for a year
Went in easy. It's made well and fits perfectly.
Planned ahead for the install and sound deadened everything and replaced my fuel pump while I was back there. Trimming the interior panels was the most ambiguous part but they look okay. Rock solid install and great attention to detail from the MFG.
