Love the clutch assembly
Anyway, love the clutch assembly. I had 135,000 on my clutch (2004 mazdaspeed) and replaced due to a bad pilot bearing. This clutch is lighter and as smooth as the original when I replaced it. It engages over a shorter range, but there is never a point where it grabs all at once. It’s just smooth, progressive and easily modulated. Plus the lighter flywheel makes double clutching on a downshift much more fun.

Great buy if you're doing clutch work!!
Hey guys, I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how much I really like your Clutch/ Flywheel Happymeal!!!
I ordered the 10.3 lb flywheel with the stage 1 clutch, and it came with new throw-out and Pilot bearings. So, I have never done a Full clutch and flywheel install and was ready to tackle the job. So about 4pm on a Sunday I started, dumb idea. Between rusted exhaust bolts, and just generally a NOOB to the whole PPF that is on the Miatas…it became a LOOONG job for me. I had air tools, and pretty much a full shop minus a lift, a lift is a much wanted object now in my garage hahaha. However after struggling for some time, I was eventually done about 4am. started her up, warmed up and took her for a spin…Engine is way more responsive and it definitely feels way sportier. I Love the clutch, engagement is very smooth and very minimal chatter if any. I do have a slight Throwout bearing noise, but my buddy that owns a shop and has a miata said it is pretty normal of them to squeak while the clutch is out…Ive never heard of that but he says his does it and everyone else he knows has too…I tried the grease on the slave cylinder shaft, still squeaky. Not a big deal and definitely not a big enough deal for me to want to pull it out all over again just yet but otherwise the clutch and flywheel or A! and I love them.. I would def recommend this setup to any miata owner. Great buy if you're doing clutch work!!

Great service
I bought a cherry 90 miata with fm suspension on it. I needed a new clutch and ordered the clutch/flywheel happy meal. It arrived in short order. My mechanic was impressed with the fit and quality of the parts and the job was a breeze. The clutch drives just as advertised and the lighter weight flywheel was an excellent addition. Thanks, Flyin Miata, for great product and service.

Happy Meal Clutch Kit
I wanted to write you to tell you how thankful I am for your team of excellent employees! Everyone I contacted before and after I made my purchase of the Happy Meal Clutch Kit was absolutely wonderful and so helpful in many ways. Brandon Fitch answered many questions about the kit as well as countless questions on forced induction and engine management for my Miata, and for that I'm VERY grateful. Your wife, Teri, helped me track down my order and even contacted your supplier for me to make sure that the parts would arrive soon. Amber, Deb, Keith, and everyone else that I have spoken with over the phone and via email have been extremely helpful and possibly the most patient people I've ever dealt with. You guys are great and I can't wait to meet you all soon!
Secondly, the Happy Meal clutch kit that I ordered is magnificent. I love the way that my RPM gauge now blasts up to 7000 when I mash the throttle instead of lethargically climbing up to the higher RPM's. The engagement is so smooth, you would never know that it is so much lighter than the stock unit. I have no problems to report and I expect to love every moment of shifting. Every time I drive, I look forward to the absolute bliss of shifting my roadster with my new aluminum flywheel and stage 1 clutch kit. (By the way, I wish that I didn't have to hide that super cool purple pressure plate and shiny, new flywheel!) The clutch bypass switch is so convenient to warm the car in the morning without having to climb in to start the car. I love that little bend of metal. The one and only drawback that I found with your kit is that the one nut holding the clutch pedal adjustment bolt in place was a 12mm, not the 17mm mentioned in your instructions. But, because I am a master problem-solver, this was easily remedied without much frustration or cursing. ; )
Lastly, the packaging is exactly as I've read. I almost expected to find a kit made entirely of crystal glass gently nestled in the carefully stuffed package that I received in the mail. The looks are killer, the products are stellar, and the fit is right on. The most trouble I had was cracking loose all the 16 year old nuts and bolts. Installation was a breeze after that and I couldn't believe that I had torn off my own gearbox and installed the clutch kit so easily, having never done so before. The whole process was straight-forward and extremely beneficial for the feel and function of my car.
I would recommend Flyin' Miata to any Miata enthusiast and can't wait to visit the shop sometime in the very near future! Please pass this email around to all the great folks at Flyin' Miata, as I know that they all do a spectacular job and deserve a little praise every now and again.

Thanks for the quality parts FM!
I have about 1000 miles on the Happy meal now and it is very nice. I notice NO difference from the factory clutch other than a longer throw on the clutch pedal and lower catch point. It does rev a bit quicker and I can accelerate in higher gears a bit easier. I don't know why Mazda didn't build them this way to begin with. My transmission actually rattles LESS with this setup, although I did a proper alignment on the PPF during reassembly.
The pilot bearing was dead on the flywheel in the car, but not much wear on the clutch, so I suspect there was a clutch disk change only at some point.
Thanks for the quality parts FM! Its a shame to hide that beautiful flywheel in the bellhousing.

Customer service
Bill,
Just a quick note to let you know that everything arrived in great shape and is now in the car. All of the components from the "clutch happy meal" fit and work perfectly! It's a great combination.
One thing I'd like to say thank you for is your communication and responsiveness. Customer service is something that seems to be forgotten with many companies, but is probably the most important service any business can offer. Keep up the good work.

Happy with a Happy Meal
I just wanted to let you know I got my clutch and flywheel (10.3lb) installed. You weren't kidding, the clutch is very easy to work. I was surprised the pedal was as soft as it was. At first I thought it might be too soft, but after a few shifts I got used to the new feeling. I was just so used to a stiffer pedal it took some quick adjustment time to get used to it. No complaints on the flywheel either. It's easy as can be to work with. I guess there's just more people that aren't so good at shifting than I thought. The likelihood of me stalling the car is almost no different than stock from what I've experienced so far. I do notice the effects of the lightened flywheel a decent bit when driving uphill. I would like to thank you for your guidance in my purchase. I'm very pleased with the outcome.

I'm surprised it is not mentioned more frequently on miata.net. I mainly see the Spec, ACT, and Fidanza mentioned and then people making compromises on how much power it can hold and pedal effort. The FM seems to be the best value because it's got the easy pedal effort and holds a lot of power not to mention is aggressively priced. I guess everyone gets in the groove of using a lot of the same parts as everyone else.

FM flywheel
Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that I am very impressed with this kit. I installed it, taking my time, in about 6 hours this past Saturday. The difference in weight between the stock flywheel and the FM one was unbelievable... I could hold up the FM 'wheel with my pinkie, but the stock lump of cast iron required both of my hands, for fear I would drop it and break my concrete floor. I know I won't abuse it for 500mi. per your installation sheet, but during the initial test drive the clamping force was phenomenal. The larger disk/pressure plate diameters are immediately apparent and impressive when compared with the stock components. Now I am ready for some more boost! Thanks for helping me get a grip. Thanks again.
Glenn
