Butterfly brace
FM installed a butterfly brace on my '92 on Thursday afternoon and I headed to Aspen for CECA's (Colorado Exotic Car Association) Aspen weekend.
I drove Janel's '90 with a butterfly brace at the open house and was impressed how solid and tight her '90 with over 100k felt. I ran it over multiple railroad tracks and every bump I could find. I was hoping it would do the same for my car which has 103k on it.
Although the brace did help some with the inside wheel lift and spin, it didn't fix the problem. However, the car feels much tighter and the inside rear view mirror doesn't fuzz out anymore. It did help on the track and I managed 2nd fastest time of the day in a field of 35 or so cars ranging from Vipers to Panteras to Shelby Cobras and a host of other fast cars. I was only beaten by a 450 hp STi with humongous turbo, roll cage and big sticky tires. In the past, I typically come in 4th or 5th in the timed laps at these events.
I think FM has another great product for us in the Miata community. I recomend it to any one wanting a tighter chassis.
