Meet the staff of Flyin' Miata

Bill Cardell
Miata guru, top-flight tuner and a little too fond of horsepower, Bill is the big cheese dog at FM. He started The Dealer Alternative back in 1983, got into Miatas in 1989, changed the name of the company a decade later and just look at what happened. You can read more about that adventure in our history. He's responsible for creating Flyin' Miata.
When he's not playing with cars, he's playing with motorcycles. 10 years of endurance road racing does that to you. He also spends as much time as possible up at his cabin with his wife Teri. If his stories are to be believed, he spent his childhood trying to blow up New Jersey.
If you're looking for solid technical assistance and the ability to solve the most baffling problems, Bill's the man.

Brad Arrendale
Brad is our Salvage Master, harvesting organs from fatally wounded Miatas so that others may live.
He currently owns a Mazda RX8, which means he is afraid of torque.

From: Atlanta, GA
Start date at FM: 0000-00-00
Department: salvage
Upcoming events: Flyin' Miata Summer Camp!

Brandon Fitch
Brandon is an engineer, so the first thing we had him do is assemble desks. That went well.

When he's not building furniture, he's trying to ride every mountain bike trail in the area. When he's done that, he'll move on to road bikes. Then motorcycles.

Brandon is one of our technicians, working to design, develop and support our products. If you call up for technical support, you just might end up talking to him.

From: Atlanta, Georgia
Start date at FM: 2006-09-29
Department: tech
Cars: the super robot locost, Brandon's pretty white car

Cheryl Lawrence
Cheryl works in shipping, wrapping all of your precious parts with love and care.

From: Grand Junction, Colorado
Start date at FM: 2012-10-24

Upcoming events: Flyin' Miata Summer Camp!

Deb McGlynn
Deb McGlynn is our bookkeeper and assistant office manager. She helps make FM run under budget despite the best efforts of the boys.
If you're talking to her on the phone, do not call her "Debbie". Seriously.

From: Northern Minnesota. Definitely not Southern Minnesota.
Start date at FM: 1999-10-01
Department: admin
Upcoming events: Flyin' Miata Summer Camp!

Debbie "DJ" Stride
DJ is one of our phone wranglers. When you call us, she's probably the first person you'll talk to. She also runs her own karaoke company, so you'll get bonus points if you sing to her on the phone.

Eric Anderson
Eric is our full-time mechanic. He's the one that turns dreams into reality for our customers, from timing belts to V8 swaps.
You have to respect anyone who shows up for work in a Porsche 928.

From: Made In Japan (he's JDM, yo!)

Department: shop
Upcoming events: Flyin' Miata Summer Camp!

James Brooks
James has worked for Flyin' Miata longer than anyone else other than Bill. He specialises in really bad puns, cartoons and trivia. You have been warned.

James built the shipping department at FM over 15 years. He's now our data operations manager, ensuring that we stay competitive and keeping our back end working properly.

Jeremy Ferber
Jeremy is the best surfer at Flyin' Miata. He also has some sort of rotary problem and used to own a truly fearsome RX-7. His 280 rwhp 1994 R was a real monster too.
When he's not tuning Miatas, he's fishing or snowboarding - or cursing the Lucas components in his Land Rover Discovery, probably while hub-deep in mud.
Jeremy is an engine management master. He's also been known to obsess over turbo compressor charts. If you call looking for help on tuning your car, you'll probably end up talking to him.

Kathleen Brown-Young
Kathleen rules shipping with an iron fist and years of experience. She'll make sure your parts get there - and more importantly, if there's a problem she'll deal with it.
She has a fairly long commute each day so she can live up in the bush with her horses. Seems reasonable.

Keith Tanner
Keith seems to enjoy playing with cars. An old Cadillac, a classic Land Rover, an old Mini, his little Lotus Seven replica, a turbo Miata, a rally Miata, the LS1-powered MGB - nobody's sure just what he's going to drag home next. He also has a tendency to take on really big projects. When he's not playing with cars, he rides bicycles and skis.

Keith is our webmaster, graphic designer, represents FM in various online forums and does tech support. He and Bill build many of the competition cars that come out of Flyin' Miata. He also wrote How to Build a High Performance Miata,How to Build a Cheap Sports Car, Mazda Miata MX-5 Performance Projects, Mazda Miata: Find It. Fix It. Trick It. and contributes to Grassroots Motorsports. And yes, he says "aboot". We imported him from Canada.

Department: tech
Cars: Targa Miata, Janel's car, the Seven, The MGB GT, the Mini
Upcoming events: Flyin' Miata Summer Camp!

Kyle Tigar
Kyle is one of our mechanics, working primarily on V8 conversions. He used to work as our salvage operator, so he can take cars apart amazingly quickly.
For fun, he drag races a Camaro.

From: Grand Junction, CO

Mike Miller
Mike's one of our shipping experts. Before you get your new toys, he's pulled them off the shelf, inspected them and made sure they're well packed to survive the trip.
He currently drives a Golf, but has plans to do some terrible things to a Miata.

From: Chino, California

Sharilyn Campbell
Sharilyn takes care of our customers,
following up on orders and keeping our mailing list accurate. She usually deals with a different type of horsepower - she and her husband raise them on their farm.

From: Grand Junction, Colorado
Start date at FM: 2009-01-26
Department: sales
Upcoming events: Flyin' Miata Summer Camp!

Tami Brown
Tami Brown has been with us forever. While she doesn't always answer the phone - you can thank Solomon and Maggie for that - she does a lot of work behind the scenes to keep FM running smoothly. Thanks to her, the boys don't get away with anything.
In case you're wondering, she used to drive the ex-Miata Magazine project car, "Stinky".

From: Colorado
Start date at FM: 1998-12-28
Department: sales
Upcoming events: Flyin' Miata Summer Camp!

Teri Rawlins-Cardell
Teri is married to Bill and works as our office manager. It's up to her to keep the rest of the team under control. Not an easy job. But nobody messes with her. Her interview process is legendary.
Teri's also a big horsepower fan. She complains that everything is too slow. If you let her out on the track in a Miata, she'll keep running laps until it runs out of gas. Then she'll take your Miata and do the same thing. Hide the keys.

Turbo Dog
For nearly 14 years, Turbodog was a big part of Flyin' Miata. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us but his enthusiasm and tireless energy are still an excellent example to us all.
