The Voodoo turbo system is our entry level setup. It`s intended for someone who wants a simple improvement in the horsepower of their Miata. It also is a good starting point for someone who wants to upgrade their car over time. Expect approximately 165 hp at the rear wheels, compared to a stock 100 hp.
Just because it`s inexpensive doesn`t mean it`s cheap. All of our turbo kits use the same basic hardware. Full details and specifications may be found on our turbo page. The advantage to this is that the Voodoo can painlessly be upgraded to Voodoo II or full FM II status. It also means that even the less expensive kits get the same quality parts as the high-end ones. Every part has been designed taking performance, durability and installation ease into consideration. We don`t believe there is a better turbo system available.
However, you won`t necessarily feel the need to upgrade. The Voodoo Turbo provides a good power boost. The car simply makes smooth, effortless power without a fuss.
Fuel management is handled by our own Voodoo Box, which uses the stock injectors to deliver more fuel. Because it only modifies the signal under boost, the car acts completely stock at idle and cruise. Tuning is a quick and simple process.
The standard turbocharger is the GT2560R. This is our favorite all-around turbo, providing good power potential with good spoolup. A smaller GT2554R is also available for those who make response their highest priority and is a good match to this system.
