2006+ Racing Beat 4-into-1 header
Racing Beat`s header for the NC is as good as you would hope. The construction is beautiful, with 304 stainless steel throughout. Like their 1990-05 headers, the flange is a cast stainless work of art with a smooth transition between the exhaust ports and the tubes. The outlet flange is the same as stock so it will bolt to a factory exhaust without any problems. Dyno tests show a gain of 7 hp and around 5 lb-ft of torque. More importantly is that most of the gains are at the top end of the rev range, where the stock engine is starting to feel wheezy.
There is a bit of a downside, unfortunately. You will have to remove your primary catalytic converter. The secondary one, found in the exhaust a bit further downstream, does remain and you should be able to pass tailpipe emissions tests. The O2 sensor is relocated to the end of the header beside the secondary O2 sensor, and this will most likely cause a check engine light. A good solution for that would be to move the secondary sensor into the stock exhaust after the remaining cat. Definitely not CARB approved. Compatible with both manual and automatic transmissions.
