Interested in building an LS-powered Miata or having us build one for you? Here's an idea of what's involved and what it will cost. The new engines come from GM Performance Parts with a 12-month warranty, and in that case the car is built with all new parts. It's possible you could save some money from using different sources for some of the parts and by using a used transmission. This chart is meant as a guide only and we've chosen realistic prices, not optimistic ones. These are sample prices, if you want to use a different engine that can be arranged.
A Miata with a new LS2 installed uses the same engine introduced in the Corvette in 2005, while the LS3 car uses the 2008 Corvette engine. Go compare the price of a converted Miata to the price of a used Corvette - and then remember that the Miata is built with all-new parts and weighs 750 lbs less!
